My first direct nuerofeedback session, only lasted about one minute. I immediately started cracking up and Dr. Dubin knew that was a sign to lower the stimulation, keeping me at a place where my brain wasn't feeling super silly but a place where I was very happy. I had a headache later that day (which was expected - my brain got a "workout", which it was not used to).
My second session (above), showed that my brain was more familiar with the pattern, as Dr. Dubin was able to use a higher electrical stimulated pulse (still less than a cell phone). The goal is not to keep raising the pulses every single time, but to find that 'sweet spot' so to speak, so that my brain is happy and content with the new neural pathways being built. Yes, I am a happy person in general, however, in this video, I cannot control my laughter at all, once my brain is highly stimulated through the EEG. I seriously did try to hold it in but I couldn't. As Dr. Dubin said, this is the nervous system's way of releasing the extra stimulation- which is why he stops it when I get too silly (lol). The effects of this second session lasted for DAYS. As someone who struggles with anxiety a few times/week, I was honestly amazed at how my energy remained in a constant 'happy zone' for about four days straight, not feeling ANY anxiousness at all. I was also much more productive than usual and more focused on and engaged with my clients. My friend swears that direct neurofeedback cured him from years of depression. This stuff works, guys. I can't wait for session three!
